During my study time, one of my study companions was going to start a spelljammer campaign, and he invited me to join. I asked him if it would be OK with him if I played a halfling priest, and if he would enforce the racial level limit of 8 which is suggested in the Dungeon Master's Guide. He told me that he would not enforce any racial level limit on any player character, and agreed to my choice of race and character. It turned out that I was very lucky indeed when I rolled the dice for my new character, and I obtained great stats. But Bobo was also a character that I wanted to roleplay well, and so I gave him a personality, a family and a background. Our DM designed a religion and deity for him, which makes Bobo one of the best described characters I ever played.
